Introducing The Total Ninja Experience RETREAT for YOU!

The Ninja retreat is an event we Ninjas look forward to all year long. We brainstorm, critique

manuscripts, help each other with revisions and spend a lot of time laughing.

Ninjas gotta have fun!

We’ve found our retreats to be some of the most productive writing we do all year. And our agents and editors agree. We’ve sold a lot of stories following our gatherings. Our retreats are amazing.

But do you know what would be even MORE amazing? Having YOU join us!

This spring you can get the TOTAL NINJA EXPERIENCE at our revision retreat. You will have the chance to be in a Ninja critique group, do brainstorming, and learn Ninja problem-solving techniques.

Here are the details.

When: May 9-11

Where: Prairiewoods Hiawatha, Iowa

The retreat center has double rooms, and all meals are provided. You can choose to stay on-site or off-site.

Single room rate - $550

Shared room rate - $350 (grab a writing buddy to room with or make a new friend!)

Retreat experience and meals only - $250 (Staying off-site. Great for local writers.)

What will happen at the retreat?

Participants will be divided into critique groups that will meet four times. You are encouraged to bring four different projects to receive feedback from the Ninjas and your writing peers. We will also meet for brainstorming and problem-solving sessions. Got a manuscript that is driving you crazy? Need to hammer out a new idea? These sessions will propel you forward and get your writing juices flowing. This is open to both fiction and nonfiction writers. All of the Ninjas write both.

What kind of projects should you bring? Whole Picture book manuscripts (max 800 words) or the first five pages of a novel or book proposal.

You are welcome to bring any mix of projects--for example:

two picture books, the first five pages of a novel, and a proposal

OR two novels (5 pages) and two picture books.

OR four picture books

Or four novels (5 pages)

You get the idea.
